Norman Hart 1945-2023
From the minute that Norman joined The Shed back in July 2019 he became very popular with members with his quick-witted comments and jokes. This was hardly surprising as his family had big connections with stage and theatre. Norman would enjoy sharing some of those moments with us from time to time. Despite always cracking a joke the quiet side of Norman would see him reading a book while listening to classical music. Having quite a large family he thoroughly enjoyed a welcome post-Covid holiday in April 2022 with 18 family members.
He was both a regular reader and contributor to our Facebook page and you may wish to scroll back through time on our webpage and see his many contributions. He was a keen baker and often gave useful tips to members on baking. His cake entry each year at the Macmillan Coffee Morning was always snapped up when they were auctioned off!
Someone once gave him a very old mechanical tin plate cow to repair. He posted pictures as he progressed sometimes requesting help to overcome a problem before the next stage. Disappointingly not many of us saw the finished item, however he did in fact complete the project and the proof is here
Norman volunteered to help restore The Theatre's 100 year old organ which involved making several hundred miniature bellows, so a team was formed to organise a production line. This was conducted in a quiet room in The Theatre. Norman would help keep the momentum going with his many stories and experiences!
We will all miss Norman but we certainly will not forget him. Thanks for all the stories and laughs Norman, now rest in peace
R.I.P. Norman
