Not sure why but we couldn't match last year's total of £1,131.00. We did manage to exceed £918.20 after all the other donations were included, but such a shame. Whether it is down to the fact that we have been closed for over half a year or not we will never know. This almost certainly had an affect on the number of entries in the re-imagine competition with only one entry from Richard Bunce but turnout overall was well down on last year. Still it was a good morning out and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves even when I screwed the raffle up. Roger Barratt went right back to the original idea and actually supplied a written afidavit from his wife. Not sure why I didn't manage to get a picture of the seven cakes but they all certainly looked tasty and the competition was won by John Elkington. Thommo did it again, after least year's cake of a beefeater's hat he brought a black box that looked as if it could be somethign similar with a question mark on the top. When he passed it on he just said "it's a mystery" so it went on the cake table. Then he corrected it and said that it was a mystery raffle prize. When it came to it turned out to be a note that said "Tea for two" with two teabags and under an inner cover were three pots of jam. He really does know how to wind everybody up. Cheers Thommo, it certainly raised a few smiles. Colin the Caterpillar actually had 122 faces although to be honest the picture looked more like a snow field that a reindeer herd had just vacated. The hamper supplied by Co-Op Funeral Directors was won by Mr. Hancock and was really worth winning. I am sure that Colin would have tucked in if only he could. Thank you to everyone that attended or helped but a special thank you to Katrine, Sally and Sharon, the 3 ladies that served us all morning with tea, cake and big smiles, they did an absolutely sterling job, and Of course the following businesses and individuals who made donations.
