Thommo's thanks from beyond.

Possibly not the best place to show this but I couldn't think of anywhere else unless I make a new page. I guess that Thommo would be worth it but it would be just more confusing, so here is the story.
A phone call at he Shed the other morning from Thommo's daughter "Will there be anybody there this afternoon as we have something that Thommo insisted that we give you?" Well what could I say, the social afternoon was on so I said "Yes, come along, we'll find somewhere to put whatever it is, expecting it to be some sort of tool." Come 14:00 and Thommo's wife and Julie appeared carrying this big box. It was obviously heavy and fragile, so there were RichardB, AdrianW, PaulB, DerekA, DavidD and me wondering what on earth it was. The box was carefully placed on the table and something we did not expect was inside. This fantabulous cake, bearing in mind Thommo's game during Covid, putting skeletons around his domain, it seemed so appropriate to realise just what Thommo had done.
It is (was) a rich fruit cake, laced fairly heavily with strong liquor, how they managed to carry it in to The Shed heaven only knows because it took two of us to take it into the hall. We actually wondered whether they were carrying on Thommo's sense of humpour by burying a lead weight in it. We asked Mo, Helen and Julie. to come and cut it and they showed up to watch the H&IoW Trust presentataion (see next item). Luckily JohnP found a very nice cake stand to show it off to it's best and ChrisH brought a tri-bladed saw just in case.
Once cut there was enough for all of those present and as much left over as well. Luckily there is so much liquer in it that it should keep, probably until Christmas if necessary, but I guess that it will disappear long before then.
Thank you ladies, we really appreciate the thought and love that went into carrying out one of dear Thommo's last wishes. Love, thoughts and the very best of wishes from all of those that he inspired in his own inimitable way.
