Bunny (Ernest) Jenkins RIP

Bunny (Ernest) Jenkins R.I.P.

Born in 1947 in the very fashionable district of Chelsea Bunny was the eldest of 12 siblings with 6 brothers and five sisters!

He had a big love for motor bikes and over the years was the proud owner and rider of several different models with his 2 favourites being a 2.5 litre Triumph Rocket 3 and a Goldwing 1800 which was a real upmarket bike complete with its own airbag!

He had belonged to a few motorcycle clubs and he remained in touch with many friends in London while he was down in the Fareham and Gosport area. His love of music seem to fit in very well with his love of motorcycles appreciating Status Quo, Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath!

Bunny was a very happy and sociable person easily making friends in all the various jobs he had.

Unfortunately with such a large family they had drifted apart but later in life with the help of the Salvation Army many of the family were happily reunited!

With wife Pat they moved into Hampshire in 2019 and his family grew even bigger 2022 with the arrival of Great Grandson and again in 2025 with Great Grand Daughter!

Bunny joined Fareham Men's Shed in October 2021. Sadly he was already showing early signs of dementia but that did not stop him getting very involved in our recycling scheme with others. He enjoyed sitting around with others for his coffee break and enjoyed a biscuit like the rest of us but Bunny used a teaspoon of honey to sweeten his tipple!

Always smiling from ear to ear when his devoted wife Pat brought into the shed, it was really sad to see the dementia gradually taking hold of dear Bunny.

Over the years he certainly helped the recycle team raise much needed funds for the shed and we will all remember him for his big smile and those fabulous sideburns!

RIP Bunny
